Conducting Effective Workplace Assessments
No matter how carefully an organization tries to manage its employee relations and its application of policies, there will be some complaints and concerns raised. It may be that an employee has an accident and the cause is unknown. It may be that an employee raises a concern about sexual harassment. It may be that an employee alleges other employees are involved in the use of illegal substances. It may be that a supervisor is said to be favoring one employee over others. All these situations call for sensitive and thorough assessments. This workshop will focus on the process and communication surrounding an assessment. Areas covered will include:
- What are the initial steps of handling employee complaints;
- What documentation can help and hinder the assessment process;
- How should interviews with the involved parties, excluding witnesses, be handled; and
- How should cases where no solid evidence for either side exists be decided.
- A comprehensive handout packet will accompany this timely and necessary workshop presentation. Situations drawn from real workplace experiences will make certain that this is a practical and realistic session. Come with your questions and concerns.
